The Hartford Children's Theatre and The Hartford Conservatory
Are proud partners in offering an exciting opportunity for the
March Vacation Performance Program!
The Theme of the week is Magical Transformations!
The teaching artists of The Hartford Children's Theatre will work with students to create original performance pieces based on one of the following books: Brothers of the Knight (an updated take on the 12 Dancing Princesses-this time with 12 rowdy boys!), Thunder Rose (an exuberant tall tale with an irresistible African Amercian heroine) and The Princess and the Frog (the classic tale with a new spin-based on the new Disney Movie).
The Teaching Artists of Hartford Conservatory will work with students as they explore our theme through music and dance. Sing and celebrate with magical songs! Explore different musical styles with hand drums and rhythm instruments! Have fun performing energetic dance routines to songs that fit our theme and add to the tales in the stories we are focusing on during the week!
The students will be divided into 3 groups based on age. Students will work from 9am - 12pm with The Hartford Childrens's Theatre - break for lunch and recreation from 12pm - 1pm - and continue working with Hartford Conservatory from 1pm - 5pm. This is an exciting opportunity to recieve top-notch instruction in a variety of artistic ways!
